We would like to welcome you to the sport of BMX. BMX is Bicycle Motocross. BMX is a sport for all ages. Some riders start as young as 3 years old and go up to 60 + years old. BMX is a family sport.
Riders of the same age and skill level race their 20" bicycle or 24" cruisers over the track of turns and obstacles. If you like riding your bike around the neighborhood or on a homemade track or jumps, you'll love this competitive type of racing.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Memberships are for a calendar year, 1st Jan to 31 Dec each year. We are an affiliated club of BMX NZ so all members must be licensed with BMX NZ (this is included in your annual fee, payable to the club each year).

License forms are available at the Command Centre, or here.

RACE AGE GROUPS
The race age is determined by the age you are in that year, i.e. if you are turning 8 this year you would be an OPEN rider if you were turning 7 this year you would be a SPROCKET. Please remember if it is your first time licensing you need to attach a copy (as you will not get this back) of your birth certificate or passport. Please do not supply us with originals as these are sent away & we do not get them back.

NUMBER PLATES
To assist commentating and points ALL bikes must have regulation number plates fitted on race night. Choose a number over 100. Numbers must be at least 80mm high by 10mm wide. Number plates are available from local bike shops… but a white ice cream container lid and felt-pen numbers are fine.
Boys & girls 7 and under should have a BMX NZ issued sprocket plate which is white with red numbers
(4 numbers)
Boys 8 years and over need a Yellow back ground with black numbers
Girls 8 and over need a blue background with white numbers
ALL Cruisers need a red back ground with white numbers.

Riders are required to have a numberplate (An old icecream lid works well for a temporary fix).
See the enrolement ladies for further assistance.
