Ashburton AREA ESNZ Show Jumping & Show Hunter Group


New for 2016/2017 Season
‘Eden Ivana Memorial Trophy’
Donated by the Stewart Family

  • To be awarded to the local (Ashburton) combination on a hack gaining the most points in ring 2
  • Most points gained in classes for both Saturday and Sunday at the November show, all day Saturday but only Sunday morning at the January show.
  • Winner is awarded a trophy which is competed for each year
  • Winner is awarded a Sash (donated by the Stewart Family)
  • To be eligible competitors must compete at the January Show
  • Points awarded will be for a placing in each class 1st-6th (ratio – 8,6,5,4,3,2) TAM@, Art 2.1 – each double clear will receive 8 points

A special mention must go to the Mid & South Canterbury Community Trust, which gave Ashburton ESNZ Show Hunter a grant which contributed to a set of new Show Hunter Stands to be purchased. The new stands, are lighter and easier to lift for our volunteers, and also look wonderful.

SOUTH ISLAND SERIES – 2016/17Season

CAVALLERIA TOSCANA - South Island Horse Grand Prix Series 
Winners to receive: 1st - $500 voucher, rug & sash
2nd - $300 voucher & sash
3rd - $150 voucher & sash
4th - $150 voucher & sash
5th  & 6th  - sash
Conditions

  • Points for this series to be gained by the HORSE & must be the same combination for the season.  
  • Shows to count: any carded shows run in the South Island 
  • Classes to count : Horse Mini Prix (HMP), Grand Prix (HGP) or Premier League (PL)  
  • Horse Mini Prix (HMP) is to be run at a height no lower than 1.35m   Points from only ONE of the above classes/horse/show to count, nomination is required at time of entry, if entering more than one of the above classes. If a rider fails to nominate a class, points from the higher height are to count.
  • Riders gaining first round faults of 12 or more do not gain points.
  • Points allocation; 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th     
    HPL - 30 25 20 15 10 7

    HGP - 20 17 14 11 8 4

    HMP - 10 8 6 4 2 1

  • Points won by competitors or horses that are placed equal are added and divided equally.

Jiminey Cricket Cup - South Island Pony Grand Prix Series 
Winner to receive the annually awarded “Jiminey Cricket Cup” & Sash 
Conditions: 

  • Points for this series to be gained by the Pony & must be the same combination for the season.  
  • Shows to count: any carded shows run in the South Island 
  • Classes to count : Pony Grand Prix (PGP), Pony Mini Prix (PMP) 
  • Points allocation; 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th
    PGP - 30 25 20 15 10 7 (1.25 -1.35m, former 3*)             
    PGP - 20 17 14 11 8 4 (1.20 -1.30m, former 2*)             
    PMP - 10 8 6 4 2 1
    Points won by competitors or ponies that are placed equal are added and divided equal
  • Points from only ONE of the above classes/pony/show to count, nomination is required at time of entry, if entering both classes 
  • In the event that an area allows entry into more than one Championship class on the same pony, the rider must nominate which class is to count for points before the show commences otherwise points from the higher height will be counted. 

CANTERBURY SADDLERY -  South Island Pony Mini Prix Series
Winners to receive: 
1st - $450 Voucher, Rug  & sash
2nd - $250 Voucher & sash
3rd - $150 Voucher & sash
4th -  $150 Voucher & sash
5th  Sash 6th Sash 
Conditions:

  • The Mini Prix class is to be a Championship and named: “CURRENT SPONSOR” Pony Mini Prix Championship 
  • Pony Mini Prix (PMP) is to be run at a height no lower than 1.15m (Ideally 1.15 – 1.20m @ GP Shows & 1.15 – 1.25 at Premier shows) 
  • Points for this series to be gained by the PONY & must be the same combination for the season.  
  • Shows to count: any carded shows run in the South Island 
  • Classes to count : Pony Mini Prix (PMP) 
  • Ponies gaining National Points in any PGP during the current season are no longer eligible for this series 
  • PMP - 10 8 6 4 2 1   Points allocation; 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th,
  • In the event that an area allows entry into more than one Championship class on the same pony, the rider must nominate which class is to count for points before the show commences otherwise points from the higher height will be counted.
  • Points won by competitors or ponies that are placed equal are added and divided equally 


EQUI-LISE – South Island Pony Points Prize 
Series details are: 

  • This class is to be a Championship class and named: “CURRENT SPONSOR” SI Pony Points Prize 1.10m Championship 
  • This class is at 1.10m.
  • It is based on the pony and not the combination. 
  • Ponies entered in this class are not eligible for the Grand Prix Pony class at the same show. 
  • In the event that an area allows entry into more than one Championship class on the same pony, the rider must nominate which class is to count for points before the show commences otherwise points from the higher height will be counted.
  • Sponsorship details are: 
  • The sponsorship to cover:   $400 vouchers, cover & sash for the overall winner of the series. $200 vouchers & sash for the 2nd placegetter. $100 vouchers & sash for 3rd and 4th placegetters.
  • Points:  5, 3, 2,1 for up to 8 starters & double points for 9+ starters
