HBG Masters Athletics

The HBG Masters Athletics is a masters organisation for all athletes 30 years up and covers all athletic events.

The minimum age for competing at certain masters events may vary from country to country, however the accepted minimum age for competing at masters events in NZ, is 30 years of age. IAAF rules do apply, with WMA (World Masters Athletics) rules also applying to some rules, specifically to cater for masters athletes.

NZMA is the national controlling body for Masters Athletes in New Zealand and an associated body of Athletics NZ. Its role is to represent NZ Masters athletes at national and international level and promote membership and participation. Membership is open to all athletes, both club and non-club athletes, aged 3o and over. Events are held in 5 year age groups. Our oldest current members are in their 90s. We have two National Track & Field Championships (Outdoor & Indoor) and Island Championships for the North and South Islands. Whatever your capabilities, there will be someone with whom you can enjoy friendly competition - come run, walk, jump, throw with us.

Currently you have to be a registered member of NZMA (NZ Masters Athletics) to compete at NZ Masters championship events.

COST: $60.00 for the season - This gives you access to all HBG events, North Island and New Zealand Masters Champs.
