On 5 June 1935 the first meeting of interested people was called and a Badminton Club was founded.  The Club played for two years but in 1937 the facilities the Club had utilised became unavailable and other suitable accommodation was unable to be found.  Accordingly the Club disbanded in 1937.

In the winter of 1940 the Methodist Bible Class formed a Club in the Youth Hall and this functioned for two years.  However with the advent of World War II the Club was closed down and no further play was undertaken until the War was over.

The Club was revived on 18 May 1949 and played in the Army Hall for two years.  The foundation to the present Club was formed.  On 5 April 1951 another change of premises occurred and the Club began to use the Town Hall.

In 1981 the Club built it’s own a single court Hall at Wither Road, Blenheim.  The Hall at Wither Road has since been replaced by a Civil Defence building.

Current Life member of the Blenheim Badminton Club is David Schroder.

The Club currrently uses St Mary's Hall at the Corner of Hodson and Francis Streets for Club nights.
