ROWING / HOEHOE

If you are interested in Rowing or Coxing, we want to hear from you!

Registration for the 2023/2024 season will be completed below during Term 3, with the season beginning in Term 4

Cashmere High School Rowing started in the 2012/13 Rowing season. Over this time rowing has grown remarkably. Our squad number sits at around 30+ dedicated rowers and coxswains. We have an active parent committee and fantastic coaching team who meet regularly to ensure our rowing programme continues to grow and run effectively.

Rowing at Cashmere High School prides itself on the spirit of achievement by participation, and we welcome all students who wish to participate. With an athlete-centered and coach-driven structure, we are able to provide a positive environment, where rowers are able to further develop their skills, build lifelong friendships, and have fun.

Rowing takes place from the start of Term 4 until the end of Term 1 the following year. This will also include some training at the beginning and end of the summer school holidays, with a break over the Christmas and New Year period. There will be a number of training sessions each week, mostly hosted at the Canterbury Rowing Club on Kerrs Reach.

OPEN DAY

We will be hosting our annual Open Day at 11:00am on Saturday 2nd September 2023 at the Canterbury Rowing Club shed at Kerrs Reach.

We aim to give information to families about the upcoming season, a tour of the shed, answer any questions, and an opportunity to sit in a rowing boat with our returning rowers to experience what rowing is all about.

We will also be having our try rowing day the following weekends at 10:00am on Saturday 9th and 16th of September 2023 at the Canterbury Rowing Club shed at Kerrs Reach.

During the School holidays, these sessions continue with a small timetable to complement the summer training timetable.

Registration for the season will be complete via the sporty page. Families need to complete both the permission and swim test form.

Please email Mr Riepen to register your interest.
