FOOTBALL / POIKIRI

Cashmere High School has a strong history with Football with the 1st XI boys competing in the Connetics Mainland Football Competition and have consistently qualified for the New Zealand Secondary Schools National  Football Tournament over the past few years.  This competition is on a Wednesday afternoon/evening and is played at English Park or Christchurch Football Academy grounds in Yaldhurst. Open Trials will be held in late Term 1 for the 1st XI Boys. Senior students who do not make this side will play in the 2nd XI and Juniors in the Junior Football Program. 


The Junior Boys Football team has been very successful and previously won the Wednesday Junior Premier League. Trials for the Junior 1st XI will be held late Term 1. Depending on numbers there will be additional Junior boys teams made to accommodate numbers. 


The Girls Football Programme is also very strong with the 1st XI team qualifying for national tournaments and winning the Premier Girls Competition in the past. Games are played on Wednesday afternoons. Trials are held late in Term 1. After trials, the girls are split into two teams: 1st XI and 2nd XI.

Girls Football Information
Trials for the 1st XI and 2nd XI girls are being held Wed 27th March and Wed 3rd April 3pm. If there are enough numbers we will enter both a 2nd XI and a Junior Girls team in the Wednesday competition. A 1st XI Squad of 16 players will be named on 4th April with 3 training reserves also named. 

All girls to register for trials on the form below.
