Girls Only League

2016 saw the introduction of a Girls Only winter leagues in the Waikato Bay of Plenty region. The leagues are run as normal from May to September on Saturdays with the draws available on the WaiBOP website.

Claudelands Rovers have enthusiastically taken on board the promotion of the girls only leagues with the desire to provide an encouraging environment to ensure girls have the opportunities to succeed.

Claudelands Rovers are very pleased to be involved with WaiBOP in promoting the new Girls Only leagues which are being launched this season. Fielding teams in these divisions will be dependent on getting the required number of keen girls registered to play, so encourage your friend to come and join you in playing Football.

2019 divisions are:

U8s, U10s, U12s and U14s

Players can play up or down 1 year from their date of birth. Requests to play 'up' a level will be considered on an individual basis.

The wider ambition for female football at Claudelands Rovers is retaining females within the club and providing an enjoyable and sustainable pathway into both social and competitive football, whichever level they wish to achieve.  Rovers currently have 3 senior women's teams – WaiBOP W-League, Development and our social team. In the past, approximately 22 NZ representative players have passed through the club on their way to greatness, with ex NZ Football ferns Helen Collins nee Arjomandi and Sarah Mclaughlin still supporting the club today. Rovers women's teams have all seen success with the most recent being the Northern League Premier Women Champions in 2015, Northern League Reserve Champions and Reserve Knockout Cup Champions in 2015. Currently, it is a time for rebuilding at Rovers with a better and brighter future for all female football players.

We need your assistance

This year we have set ourselves some goals to build a stronger junior club so we can deliver more for the kids. To enable us to do this we need your help and support as the club is only as good as the individual parents and volunteers who assist with the various tasks that need to be done leading into the season and during the season. Please contact us if you are keen to help in any way.
