Duntroon School was established in 1879. The school is recognized as being of historical significance in our community.

It is situated in a small township bounded by State Highway 83, Livingstone Street and the Maerewhenua River.

The majority of children are transported to school by three bus runs from a wide catchment area. The catchment of the school is Campbell Park to the West, Blackpoint to the East and Danseys’ Pass to the South.

The facilities consist of four recently refurbished classrooms, a library, an Administration area with Principal’s and Secretary’s offices, a workroom, reading recovery room, a heated swimming pool, two astro turf tennis courts, a  garden and extensive playing fields. Our General Purposes room is used by the Duntroon Playgroup.

The School roll is usually between 65-75 children.
