Welcome to the Eastbourne Bowling Club – the home to the 2016, 2017 and 2018 National Inter Club Men’s Champions.  In addition the Men's Premier team was awarded Team of the Year at the Hutt Valley Sports Awards in 2017 and 2018.

The club was founded in 1907 and has one natural green which has been completely refurbished and re-sown in 2016.  We consider that it is one of the finest greens in New Zealand. The Club is located about a three minute walk from Eastbourne Village and is accessed down a right of way which provides a quiet and protected environment.

The Village itself is the start of the Heritage Trail (ouside the library) which ends some 2 km away by the Wahine mast.  A recommended visit after your bowling

Visitors, social bowlers and new members are always welcome.  The club rooms are available for hire for a range of functions with bar service if required.  Catering can be self-service or provided by one of the excellent caterers in the Village.

In many ways casual and social bowls are the ‘life and soul’ of the club.  During the summer season (starting September through to May) we have a casual player “roll-up” each week on Tuesdays at 2.30 pm for men - in the winter months this is held at Naenae Bowling Club.  We also have a social 'roll up' on Fridays from 2.00 pm for women.  In addition we will be running our Community Bowls programme. Please email us if you want to enter a team.  Coaching is available for 'newbies'.  Don’t worry if you haven’t played much bowls or are a beginner.  They are fun occasions. When you play casual bowls mid-week you can wear mufti and shoes but without heels.

Like any game, bowls is more enjoyable and you will progress faster with a little bit of qualified guidance. Although bowlers all naturally develop their own individual ‘trademark’ style, it is important when you are starting out to get the basics right.  Feel free to contact any of the Executive Committee members if you are interested and one of our Senior members will be available to explain the game and provide one on one introduction to lawn bowls.

We often have a variety of social events including dinners at the Club, quiz nights and bingo nights.
