THE GAME FOR ALL AGES

WELCOME to the Gisborne Bowling Club, the oldest bowling club in New Zealand still on its original site.

The club was established in 1884 and has two-and-a-half natural greens said to be among the best in the country. It hosts competitive and social games including casual bowls year round.

It is in a prime location a short walk from the city centre.

The two-storey clubhouse overlooks Gisborne Harbour and its marina and has stunning views across Poverty Bay to Young Nick's Head.

The first-class facilities are available for hire, including for casual play and business-house bowls. The lounge and bar area seats more than 120 comfortably. It is ideal for conferences, staff functions, birthdays, weddings and more.

Visitors, social bowlers and new members are always welcome.

Casual bowls are played on most afternoons and new bowlers are made welcome and shown the ropes at these sessions.

Our Bowls New Zealand-accredited coaches are available to help bowlers to get started. You will soon discover why lawn bowls is a game for all ages.
