WELCOME TO HINEMOA ATHLETICS CLUB

The Hinemoa Athletics Club is a Children's Athletics Club with programmes available for children from 3 years and upwards, during the summer season.

We provide a range of opportunities for children of all skill leves and interests, balancing performance, participation and fun.

We have athletes performing at a National Level, we have many others who achieve at a Regional level, and others who love coming along to club nights and having fun.

Mini Club (3-6 yrs) is for our youngest members and is a rotation of short races and skill-based games, teaching the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing.

Our Junior athletes (7-9 yrs) participate in a rotation of disciplines, building skills in sprints, discus, shot put and long jump.

Our Senior athletes (10-14 yrs), in addition to the junior rotation are also given opportunities to participate in long distance runs, high jump, hurdles and triple jump.

Club Nights

Our club nights are run on Thursdays at Steele Park, Hamiton East.

Mini Club (3-6 yrs): 5pm - 5.45pm
Juniors (7-9 yrs): 6pm - 7.30pm
Seniors (10-14 yrs): 6pm - 7.30pm 

Ribbon Days

Ribbon Days are held throughout the season and hosted by different clubs around the Waikato / Bay of Plenty. We encourage athletes to attend these events, they're a great way to meet new friends, build on skills and technique, and compete against other athletes.

Ribbon Days are free to attend, no registration required. A morning programme runs for Mini Club, and a full-day programme runs for athletes 7-14 yrs.

Fees

Membership Fees for 2023/24 Season:

Under 3 years old $43
3-4 years old $50
5-6 years old $52
7-14 years old $95
15 years and over $95

Membership fees are attributed to three seperate organisations: 

1. Athletics New Zealand
2. Athletics Waikato Bay of Plenty
3. Hinemoa Athletics Club

If you are a family of three or more there is a 10% discount on the Hinemoa Athletics Club portion of your membership fees. This will automatically be applied upon registration.

Uniforms:

Our club uniform is a white Hinemoa singlet or crop top, and black shorts. Club uniform is compulsory for participating in external events, and optional for club nights.

Age flashes are provided to athletes upon registration and we ask that these be worn at club nights to help our volunteers with recording results and greeting children by name. 

When attending external events, age flashes must be sewn on to club singlets in order to participate.
