The North East Valley Cricket Club was founded in 1920. It has a long and proud record of contributing to Dunedin club cricket and has included in its playing ranks over the years a number of New Zealand cricket representatives. These include the late Bert Sutcliffe, Eric Dempster, Stephen Boock, Lance Cairns, Bruce Blair, Mark Richardson, Neil Broom and Jimmy Neesham. It has also produced two top international umpires in Eric Dempster and Steve Dunne as well as many Otago representatives.

Current Otago representatives affiliated to NEVCC are Neil Broom, Travis Muller, Llew Johnson, Thorn Parkes, Jarrod McKay and Oli White.

The club’s current playing strength is five teams which are entered in the Senior, Second grade, Third Grade and Fourth grade competitions of the Dunedin Cricket Association.

The club shares the high profile Gardens ground facilities with the Northern Association Football Club and the North East Valley Junior Cricket Club.

The club has excellent practice facilities and comfortable, air-conditioned clubrooms with full audio-visual facilities for sports watching and social occasions.
