Crater Rim Trail Run
Although the day wasn't wet it was bitterly cold, especially standing at the top of Rapaki marshalling runners and trying to point them in the right direction.
Anyway, we had Rebecca McLean, Natasha Douglas, Mel Hines, Mark Hassall, Karly Ryder and Wendy Fox-Turnbull competing in this event.  While Natasha and Karly both ran the 20km version and finished well up the field the others all took on the 30km distance.  Congratulations to Rebecca for winning the womens section in just a tick over 3hrs, good effort.

Takahe to Akaroa
SW REPORT
Right from the start the team was in the leading bunch, both from the 8.30am start and the women's teams from that time.  Natasha Douglas ran a really good leg to be 3rd woman finished in a time of 39.59, next up was a flu ridden Jacq Manson who put in a valiant effort but struggled with illness to finish off strongly before handing over to Olivia Moon, Gloria White and then Jacinda Swain who between them brought the team back up to 2nd women's team by the end of lap 5.  Karly Ryder managed to hold this position up the hill but the charging University B and the NC Masters women teams made up ground to close in then on the final two laps they were too strong form Mikayla Dyer lap 7 and Claire Van Polanen on the final leg.

The team were 4th in National Comp and 2nd in Local Womens D Grade Comp.

Gloria White and Jacinda Swain were 5th fastest Sw on their laps with Natasha 6th.  The overall team time was 5.44.52.

Canterbury Road Champs
Using a new course out the back of Spencer Park the road champs appeared to be a success away from all busy roads with no need for a traffic management plan and fine warm weather with a slight breeze to help the runners.

While some fields were small the combined events provided lots of competiton for athletes no matter if they were the same grade or not.

A number of top performances were achieved with Tracy Crossley MW and Fergus Eglesfield B11 both winning their age groups and with Karly Ryder W19, Ros Hadler MW, Abby Ladd G8, Tegan Duffy G9 and Sopie Glover G9 all finishing in the top three.  There were also other top ten placings which helped the MW 1st and G9 3rd placing in the teams races.  The MM finished 4th,
