Bequest
Your legacy can live on…
North End Rowing Club has been Fostering and encouraging rowers of all ages in Otago since 1892. By including North End Rowing Club in your will, you can help us ensure we can continue to provide the facilities and friendly environment where people of all ages can enjoy and excel in the sport of rowing, for years to come.
What is a bequest?
When creating or updating your will you need to decide how you wish to distribute your assets. While family and dependents generally come first, more and more people are now choosing a charity to receive a certain percentage of their estate or a percentage of the residue of their estate.
The North End Rowing Club Trust
The North End Rowing Club Trust has been established to receive and manage bequests. Its prime function is to manage the distribution of funds, not only to the North End Rowing Club and its members but also any aspiring rowing athlete within the Otago Region.
The North End Rowing Club Trust manages the capital (i.e. the pool of bequests) and pays out income earned to North End Rowing Club Inc, its registered members, and any aspiring rowing athlete within the Otago region. The North End Rowing Club Trust never touches this capital which means your bequest remains to earn money for the future. Your bequest will continue to generate funds for North End for decades (even centuries) after your death.
So how do I make a bequest?
There are a number of options available for making a bequest to The North End Rowing Club Trust:
• A percentage of your estate
• A percentage of the residue of your estate
• Specifying an amount of money or a particular asset such as property, insurance, artwork etc
