Years 7 & 8

Northland School teams play every Saturday in the Wellington West Netball (WWN) competition. There's at least one training a week. 

Mixed grade teams

For several years, players have trialled and are placed into mixed grade teams. The need for trials is dependent on registration numbers and a decision will be made by the Committee at the start of each season.

There are two reasons why Wellington West Netball introduced mixed year 7 and 8 teams a few years ago, and most schools in the Wellington West Netball competition already do this:

• Mixed grade teams provide players with the opportunity to play netball at a level suitable to their ability
• More balanced teams enable players to progress and improve skills and enhance players’ enjoyment of the game

The Club aims to ensure player grading is conducted fairly and effectively and that the outcome is in the best interests of the whole club and its players.

Years 7 & 8 players, and their team coaches, are encouraged to attend additional player development sessions to be held over 3 sessions at the start of Term 2. Further details can be found on the Wellington Wests website here.​​​​​​​

Festival day - Sunday 19th May 2024 (rain day Sunday 26th May 2024)
