SECONDARY SCHOOL COACH REGISTRATION & RUGBY SMART 2023

Thanks for taking up the opportunity to contribute positively to our game. Your service to the community and your school is most appreciated. Please see details below for ‘How to register’ and begin coaching for the season.

COACH REGISTRATIONS ONLINE:

ALL coaches MUST register online. 2022 registered coaches will receive an email invite to register OR if you are a new coach go to your club or School website Secondary School Contacts   to complete a new coach registration online form.

RUGBY SMART:

Before the season kicks off, you’ll need to ensure you’ve completed RugbySmart.

This season we’ve made it even EASIER to complete RugbySmart and you’ll only need to do one of the following:

  • Complete the RugbySmart Online Module, or
  • Take part in a NZR RugbySmart Webinar, or
  • Attend a RugbySmart practical session, facilitated by CMRFU.

EASY STEPS:

  1. Online Registration Form - Re-register OR new form on your club or School Rugby website Secondary School Contacts Choose one the 3 options – RugbySmart Online Module, NZR RugbySmart Webinar or CMRFU RugbySmart practical session.

There is a slight change to the Police vetting process.

Police vetting

On the Coaches and Admin/Volunteer (if they select the role of Team Manager) forms there is now a mandatory question. Are you coaching/managing a team where one or more of the players will be aged under 18?. If Yes is selected a section will appear where they are required to fill in their Drivers Licence number and tick the consent to police vetting box.

For police vetting to be triggered for 2023, NZR still have some development work to be completed so that Club Convenors can check the ID of the Referee, Coach and Admin/Volunteers and verify that the ID has been checked through Sporty to trigger the police vetting.

Once this development work on checking ID’s has been completed, I will provide more information on the process.
