ORIENTEERING / awhe ararau

Orienteering is an event based sport which means there are a variety of competitions throught the season, rather than weekly events.  School does not coach orienteering -we offer information on events you can compete in.

Orienteering is both a sport and a recreation. At the most competitive level, Cashmere school students regularly make the NZ Secondary School team which travels to Australia each year to compete. Others take part at as many events as they can, walking or jogging, at their own pace and enjoy the challenge of the navigation. Navigation is a key component in adventure racing and all of the top adventure racing teams have at least one experienced orienteer in them.

See the PAPO event calendar above for a list of all upcoming events.  There is an evening sprint being held at Cashmere on Tuesday 12 March.
