If you are thinking of joining Pony Club then here are a few things to consider, tips and words of encouragement (in no particular order):

- Pony Club is usually held on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month, from 10am to 12pm

- Pony Club is run by volunteers usually the parents of the children attending the Pony Club

- Everyone needs to chip-in to make the rallies and events a fun and safe day for all involved

- You can attend 3 rallies before you make the decision to join, this is so you can see whether you like Pony Club and whether it works for your family

- We have riders of all ages and abilities - dont be shy - you can make new pony-keen friends at Pony Club

- We try to do different things - one rally we might practice jumping, another rally we might go for a beach ride, another we might do games or dressage, or learn about pony care.  We try to make it fun!

- You do have to register for each rally so that we know who is going to be coming along and have enough coaches.  You do this on-line on this site - have a look at the top of this page for "RALLY REG (online)"

- Dont worry just ask loads of questions - we're all happy to help ;)

Things to Consider:

- Dont forget to pack a water bucket, hay net and a pooper scooper and bucket (you have to take any poop away with you)

- Please do not leave your pony tied to the float if the float is NOT attached to a car/vehicle

- Arrive in plenty of time so that you aren't rushed and worried. And so your pony has time to get used to what is happening!

- If you have long hair then a hair net is the best idea (and required) to keep your hair neat, tidy and under control

- If your pony sometimes kicks other ponies then tie a red ribbon in his or her tail so that other riders know not to come to close to that end of your pony

- You must have an adult at the rally with you - this is for rider safety and we do need parents to help out with gear, set up and pack up

- Pony Club members can work towards different Certificates -  Pony Club guides and helps you to achieve these Certificates and they cover both riding and horse/pony care and management- Riders can also earn badges for different horse/pony topics.  These badges can then be sewn onto pony covers or saddle blankets
