Our History :
Royals was Originally formed as one Women's Basketball team by Cathy Hyland
& the Late Margaret Lovell-Smith to participate in the Canterbury Basketball Assoc Competitons .

Our Coach for some seasons was the late Joyce Phillips who is a Life Member of Canterbury Basketball and Royal's Basketball

Over the years we have introduced the Various Teams in particular
Women's Mid Week team and Men's Team's per the Different grades who participate in the Canterbury Basketball Association Competitions during the Club Competition in Winter and various social teams in the Summer & Pre-Season Leagues.

We have also over the time encouraged Participation at the Various Masters Tournaments in Timaru and Christchurch with some Success
