What is the Ravensbourne Youth Yachting Trust?
Ravensbourne Youth Yachting Trust allows children and young people throughout the Otago region, to get out on the water and try sailing for free. We have a fleet of "learn to sail" optimist dinghies, so please get in touch or just come on down on a Sunday morning in the season!

We also provide guidance for beginners and coaching for intermediate to advanced sailors. These sailors pay a subsided fee to be part of the Trust and for the use of the racing dinghies.

For those who are looking to improve and sail on high performance dinghies, we have 16 single crewed O'pen BIC dinghies & 6 two crew 26ers ready to race.

The trust operates out of Ravensbourne Yacht Club but you do not have to be a member of any yacht club to be involved. Everyone is welcome and the aim is to have fun out on the water and learn to sail in a safe environment with out having to outlay thousands of dollars on a boat..
How to join!
You can apply to join the Trust at any time during the year. Fill out the application form on the application page. Contact us now for 2016-17 programme.
