Jared Keeman.

"Its a brilliant game and I would love to see more young people play it!"

Jared started playing golf croquet while a pupil at Timaru Boys High School. After an Inter school tournament played at the Aorangi Croquet Club he stayed behind and watched a game of association croquet and became intrigued with the strategy, skill and tactics. "Its a bit like chess" he said "you can play at different levels"

He joined the club as a junior member aged 16 in the 2005 season, and soon became very involved with both codes of play.
He was very competitive and was entering and winning tournaments throughout South Canterbury.

He won the regional final of the Arthur Ross in the 2006-07 season defeating Duncan Dixon 26-1 in fifty minutes. He went to the National final in Wellington where his handicap was dropped after winning his first game. Jared lost his next game and went into the Plate section which he won.

Jared has won most of the Croquet South Canterbury tournaments over three years in both golf and association croquet and at the young age of 17 won the NZCC Invitation Gold Cup in Pukekohe.

Selected for the NZCC youth squad, Jared played in England in  the summer of 2009 before competing in the inaugural under 21 World Golf Croquet Tournament in Egypt. The coach and team manager was Chris Clarke.
Jared, now at University in Christchurch, is a member at the United club in Hagley Park and is now a minus player (- 2.5).
