BADMINTON

Each year St Patrick’s College assembles several badminton teams, competing at both junior and senior level as well as competitive and social. In 2023, 36 students played Badminton.

In 2023, our Premier team finished seventh in the Division 1 New Zealand Secondary Schools Nationals. 

Year 13 leaver Samuel Navarra is the number 2 ranked U19 player in New Zealand. He was a member of the NZ team who competed at the Junior World Championships in Washington, US in September. He won the Victor Ludorum trophy for SPC Sportsman of the year in 2023, and was the recipient of the College Sport Wellington Badminton Player of the Year.

Teams compete in the local College Sport Wellington leagues, held throughout terms 2 and 3. Juniors play on Thursday's while seniors play on Friday's. All games are played at various school gyms.​​​​​​​
