​​​​​​​MANAGER’S MEETING - 9:45am at the Rugby Feilds


​​​​​​​ELIGIBILITY

1. Students competing must be enrolled full-time in the school they are representing.

2. Students competing must be Year 6.  Only those schools that do not have a big enough roll to make up a whole team out of Year 6 Students may include year 5 students from their school.

3. Students may compete in more than one code; however, timetable allowances will not be made for any competitors. 

4. If a student enters more than one code they will only receive one free registration gift rather than one  for each code.


RULES AND EVENT INFORMATION

Teams are 6 aside and a maximum of 10 players may register per team.  Teams are allowed to have both boys and girls registered, however there won't be a separate grade for mixed teams. They will all be in the same grade.

Schools will be able to enter more than one team.

  • Games are of 8 minute halves. Two minute half-time. Hooter will sound for beginning and end of halves. Two minutes for next game to be on the field.
  • Games will be played on half size rugby fields at the Mitre 10 Park Hawke's Bay
  • Draw will be in relation to number of entries received.
  • Teams can be mixed (There is no separate Boys and Girls competition)
  • Six on the field at time. Substitutions can be made at any time, but the player who is being replaced must leave field before the replacement enters play.
  • Tag with one hand the player running with the ball (call your tag).
  • Six tags before it is handed over to the other team.
  • Tap the ball with your foot and pass when you get tagged. You must pass the ball after you tap it.
  • Attacker must retreat to where tag was made before play resumes with a tap.
  • Defenders to retreat 5 metres after a tag is made.
  • Any dropped ball or forward pass is a handover.
  • No kicking.
  • When the attacking team is close to the line and get tagged, they need to bring it back to 5 metres before the line
  • Handover = tap and pass.
  • Penalties for offside or unsporting play - Restart the tag count back to zero.
  • Yellow card for repeated unsporting play - player to go to sideline for two minutes and can not be replaced. Red card for verbal or physical abuse.
  • After end of half hooter sounds, play will run until next tag, dropped ball or try. That will be the end of the half. In the case of a penalty, attacking team will still be able to tap and pass.
  • Teams are to wear their school playing strip.  No Boots. 
  • In the event of a draw both teams will be awarded 2 points.  Winners = 4 points.

REFEREES

Referees will be provided where possible but each team must have someone with them that could referee and would be available to ref any game on the competition draw.  They may not necessarily be asked to ref their own school. 

EQUIPMENT

Each team must supply their own match ball for the duration of the competition.  This is a size 4 ball. 

FIRST AID

Staff/Parents are required to have their own first aid kit for their teams.  This kit should also include ice and strapping tape.  If you have teams at more than one venue you will need to bring a first aid kit for each venue.


PAYMENT AND DRAWS

Schools will be required to pay the registration fee per school using the Sportsground website – online registration link.

Once you have registered your team/s you will not have to register any names.  This will enable you to get your teams ready with lots of time to find replacements for sick children or make any other changes required.  

Payment will be able to be made on line via a credit card or direct debit you will be given the opportunity to request an invoice.  In this case, your registration will not be confirmed until payment has been made.  Please remember that there are limited spaces for the sports being offered.


There will be NO LATE REGISTRATIONS.  There will be NO REFUNDS for children/teams withdrawing after this date.- Please note that there should be only one ‘Super Sixes’ Coordinator per school.  This person will be responsible for all entries for the whole ‘Super Sixes’ competition.  There should be only one registration per school at this first entry portal. 

In the event of there not being enough registrations for a sporting code to run an acceptable competition, you will be contacted and your money will be refunded or an alternative sporting code may be offered.
