Playing croquet brings you fun and friendship wrapped up in an intriguing game that’s great for most ages, from beginners to hard out contenders and everyone in between.

Essentially croquet is a sport where you and your partner race your opponents to be the first to whack your ball through a series of six hoops (played twice). There are definitely rules but they are easiest to learn as you play with experienced players.

Takapuna Croquet offers two popular ways to play: 

Golf Croquet is a simple form of croquet where most people start and is a firm favourite because it’s continuous playing that is sociable, interactive and easy to learn.

Association Croquet also has many fans. It’s based on break play (think snooker, billiards and pool) which can mean that one player can spend a lot of time sitting down, unable to do anything to influence or interrupt the striker's progress.

Now you know a bit about the game you must be itching to come along and try croquet for yourself.  All you need is to wear comfortable clothes and your soft soled shoes.

Lots of people have been introduced to croquet through different kinds of events, like basing your celebration for a special occasion around a croquet game, or by playing in a corporate event.

Takapuna Croquet's Corporate Team Events Package:

You can invite a good sized group of 32 people (max*) to play

There are four lawns available for your people

You don’t need to bring mallets or croquet balls, we supply the equipment

Our helpful coaches will teach you how to play

They’ll stay on hand to guide you throughout

You’ll have two hours to really get your game on

You just have to turn up and right here you have the makings of an awesome team building event. All for the incredibly affordable rate of just $25.00 per person.  That’s probably one of the most cost effective and easily organised team events you could wish for.

Takapuna Croquet has set times for members only club play:

Golf Croquet:

              Monday, Thursday & Saturday – 1.00 pm- 3.00 pm

              Wednesday - 9.00 am - 11.30 am

Associal Croquet:

Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday - 10.00 am - 12.30 pm

The rest of the week:

Wednesday - members practice day

Friday - maintenance morning, so no play until after midday

Casual Club Sundays - your chance to play from 2.00 pm followed by BYO refreshments

Full membership $360.00

Associate membership $150.00

Lawn fees for guests and non-members $10.00
