....Aotearoa Maori Netball Oranga Healthy Lifestyle Incorporated (AMNOHL) was established under the auspcies of the Maori Womens Welfare League (MWWL).

In 1987 a Maori initiative to encourage Healthy Lifestyle was established involving the League, the Department of Health and the National Heart Foundation.  The result was the inception of AMNOHL National Netball Tourmament.

Born from the dream of Whaea June Mariu, the President of the MWWL at the time and the first Maori woman to captain a New Zealand Netball team, and alongside many other foundation members, she developed her vision of contributing to reducing the rate of smoking and prevention of cardiovascular disease amongst Maori women....the kaupapa that continues today!

TMPT Incorporated was formed as one of the foundation regions of the National netball tournament and supports the philosophy and kaupapa of AMNOHL.

AMNOHL’s existing infrastructure has enabled the successful National Netball Tournament since 1988, with 2020 being the 32nd National Tournament.

TU KAHA! TU MANA! TU ORA! TU MAORI!
