Team Hikoikoi is Hikoikoi Waka Ama Club's premier open men's team based in Wellington.

Founded in 2015, Team Hikoikoi has risen through the ranks in the Hoe Tonga Pacifica region in distance and sprint waka ama racing. Now a permanent feature at Waka Ama Spint National Champs, Team Hikoikoi qualified for the 2018 IVF World Va’a Club Sprint Champs in Tahiti and is currently preparing to compete in the international arena.

The team takes it values from the Hikoikoi Club haka, Tumutumu Parea, written in 2017 by Ben Ngaia. These values include, perserverance, committment and the pursuit of excellence not only on the water, but across all aspects of life.

After competing at the 2018 National Waka Ama Club Champs, Team Hikoikoi qualified to compete in the V6 1500m Open Men's sprint race at this year's 2018 International Va'a Federation (IVF) World Champs held in Tahiti, July 2018.
