The best kept secret in golf’ and “the jewel in the west” are but two of the many compliments extended to the Te Ngutu Golf Club and its course by visitors from all around New Zealand.

With the foresight of a group of local residents in 1932, the foundation for the Te Ngutu Golf Club was formed and within 2 months boasted an initial closed membership of 60 keen golfers.

The course was developed over the years on its present site and with the purchase of some additional neighbouring land, as well as developing new greens and tees, the course was established in its current 18 hole layout being par 71 and 5487 metres in length with an NZSCR of 68.0 and a Slope Index of 114 off the men’s tees, whilst the women have a par of 72, measuring 5083 metres in length, with an NZSCR of 71.3 and a slope index of 117.

Although a relatively short course Te Ngutu has many challenges for both beginners and experts alike, with its greens ranking amongst the best in New Zealand. With groomed fairways and strategically placed trees and bunkers, golfers are assured of not only a challenge but also a very pleasant outing on a picturesque part of the South Taranaki rural scene.
From its small beginnings Te Ngutu now has about 300 members.

A fully stocked golf shop is available on site and visitors are most welcome.
