We are located at Saxton Stadium, 142 Saxton Road, Stoke, Nelson. Table Tennis has its own entrance partway down the right hand side of the stadium when facing the main entrance.

NEW IN 2024

2024 Fee structure. You can pay as you go at $5.00 per session or pay a term fee. A term fee allows you to play multiple sessions every week, you can save by paying a term fee. Term fees are payable quarterly and cover 13 weeks. The term fee to cover all sessions is $40 (or an annual fee of $150) for seniors aged over 65 years;  $60 for all other adults; $25 for juniors, ($40 for two or more juniors in a family). A term fee can be paid at any time but you will have to pay as you go up until the term fee is paid.​​​​​​​

Monday Morning Social Table Tennis from 9am until 12pm.  Email [email protected] for more information. Bats and balls are provided, all you need is non marking shoes. Morning tea provided! 

Monday Junior coaching  runs from 3:30pm until 5pm.Term fees are $25 per person or $40 per family.

Tuesday night mixed grade competition is on every Tuesday night starting from 7pm. Each player will play at least 2 singles and 1 doubles matches. Teams are made up on the night, just turn up and play. Social play is also available so come on in and and have a hit with your mates. Bats and balls provided, just bring your non marking shoes.

Wednesday morning social play 9am to 12pm for the more serious contender. You need to be invited to join the top-of-the-table doubles play, but the stadium is open to anyone coming to hit as a family or with a friend.  Bats and balls provided, just bring your non marking shoes.

​​​​​​​Wednesday night social play from 7pm to 9pm, cost is $5 per person or $10 per family. Bats and balls provided, just bring your non marking shoes. A good night for a work place challenge, settle some scores and relax afterwards in the lounge.

Thursday night  Competitive Thursday nights will resume when the school term starts in February, 2024. Email [email protected] if you are keen to play or would like more info.

Friday Juniors warm up from 3:30pm - 4:00pm. Then made up teams play 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Resumes in Term 2, 2024

​​​​​​​Saturday morning   9.30am  to 12 noon. Bring family or friends along for a hit.​​​​​​​ $5 casual fee or $10 for the family for those who have not paid a term or annual fee.

​​​​​​​Sunday morning 9:30am - 12pm, a bit of everything! Competitive practice / coaching, junior coaching and social play. $5 per person, or $10 per family. Just turn up. A very popular morning, so get the family out for a step up from the kitchen table or have a good hard workout with a mate who thinks they can play better than you.


Structure of the Table Tennis Nelson Junior Program

Step 1 come to Monday after school juniors, this runs all year except school holidays or come to one of the family sessions on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening.

Step 2. Play in the Friday after school comp during term 2 and 3.

Step 3 Register with Table Tennis New Zealand and become familiar with events that are on.

Step 5 Consider some additional coaching by emailing Table Tennis Nelson and asking. People currently coaching are; Shino Yonie, Allan Villa, Sunny Chan, John Jary, Paul Op den Buysch and Mark Nalder. You can check them out as they are often at the stadium. Coaching can be on an individual basis or in groups up to four if you have some mates who want to train. You will need to ask each coach what if any coaching fees are involved. Individual coaching develops your game faster that the larger group events. 

Step 6 Play in the Competitions, Nelson Closed and Nelson open, and the Marlborough open. Then consider Wellington Otago and Canterbury and NZ National champs.

Step 7 Play Thursday night competition.

Step 8 Play in Nelson representative teams. South Island Team Champs and Shield match with Marlborough.

Step 9 Get selected and attend TTNZ South region training camp. Get selected and attend NZ National training camp. (we currently have 6 nelson Juniors at this level)
