How old do I need to be to start rowing?
Due to the size of the equipment and the physical strain that rowing can put on the body, we reccommend that people are at least 12 before they start the sport.
This can vary depending on the rowers individual development, and coxswains can be a little bit younger.
People should not expect to race until the season after they turn 13 for similar reasons.


What should I wear/bring to training?
  • Fitted clothing. (e.g. lycra, spandex, bike pants) During winter/morning trainings, compressions/skins and thermals can be useful
  • Hat & Sunglasses (polarized are best). Over summer, you might need sunblock too
  • Jumper.
  • Socks to wear in the boat
  • Sneakers
  • Water bottle
  • On days where you will be doing a long row (your coach will tell you), you might want to bring a banana.
