Coaching

Wakatipu High School has an amazing group of volunteer coaches, managers and contributors to sport. These range from parents of students and ex-students to members of the community, former students and teaching and support staff.

Our volunteers are passionate about delivering our vision of growing better people through sport and working alongside rangatahi to improve and deliver sporting opportunities for the young people of the Wakatipu Basin. Our coaches and volunteers are invaluable in the delivery of sport to our students.

If you would like to get involved in coaching and/or managing a sport at WHS please contact Director of Sport Laura Nathan. We welcome people from all walks of life who share a passion for our vision and wish to contribute to the sporting experiences of secondary school students.

The Coaches Handbook below provides key information about coaching at WHS. Please note this may take a couple of minutes to load.

Wakatipu High School Coaches Club

The Coaches Club is an initiative that builds a community of support and development around our coaching network. There is a session twice a year for coaches to attend to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise as leaders in their sport. There is also a Facebook Group: Wakatipu High School Coaches Club that is used to share resources, ideas and knowledge amongst the coaching community.

Police Vetting

WHS, like many other sporting organisations and schools require all volunteers involved in sport to be police vetted. There is currently not a shared database for this process so each individual organisation requires their volunteers to complete the police vetting form and submit in person two forms of identification. For more information and to access the relevant documents, please email our Sports Coordinator Sian Horn.
