Saturday 3rd December

Association Croquet

Les Clarke, Conrad Petersen v Tom Durkin

This turned out to be a very serious game.  Tom knew he was up against it. Conrad is consistently good, and Les can read the game and play to advantage.  This doesn’t sound fair to Tom. However this means he has to pla,y and call on shots not used in a less serious situation.  Mistakes were made on both sides. As tension mounted,  Tom crept away. C onrad on the peg, and Les going into bat, the game was heading toward a definite cliff hanger, and Les was on form, and ready to do some damage. Les called time, and the win went to Tom.  Good work all round!

Good to see Jackie, and quick to pick up the game again.

Tom made it to the green, but failed to be any help to Jackie.  Les had a well-deserved win.

Golf Croquet

Margaret Wood 4 Adriane Trott, Jenny Wood 7

Margaret was consistent With her stop shots. Jenny positioned the ball continually in front of the hoop, whilst Adriane did her usual clearing hits.

Margaret Wood, Jenny Wood 3 v Adrian Trott 7

Adriane made a long, clear hoop, but her reoquets were off at times. Once again Jenny was positioning her ball well, making for a very challenging game.  Les Clarke has made an excellent job of mowing the lawns, hence the balls were travelling fast. Therefore our weights on the swing had alter.
