Kia ora,

Weymouth RFC was founded in the early 1970's, so in comparison to other more established clubs in the proud Counties Manukau union it is relatively young. The club was established as a "breakaway", club from the more established rugby club in the region Manurewa RFC. However, we can boast a few notable representatives and first-class players over the years, most notably Jonah Lomu who played his first senior club rugby game for Weymouth, and Joe Rockococo who played Junior grade rugby at Weymouth before heading to Auckland. Loki Crichton of the Chiefs was also a Weymouth man before heading south to the Waikato. If there are any other notable Weymouth Alumni that I have failed to recognise my sincere apologies please let us know, as we take great pride in recognising our fellow members.
Weymouth are traditionally a side that boasts some of the best talent within the Union, and are renowned for producing quality players.

Weymouth is a family orientated Club and because of its location in the wider South Auckland area of Manukau City, naturally there is a strong Maori & Polynesian demographic which makes our club multicultural and unique.

Like most clubs Weymouth is struggling to maintain its stability during tough economic times. But we believe our Club can survive and flourish to its full potential with the support of our families and Community.

Club Rugby is the backbone of New Zealand rugby not just for players but communities as well, if we continue to support our local Club, we will see a mammoth growth within the game we love to play and also gain the respect from our fellow Clubs and most importantly our Community.
