Swimmers would normally be between 10 and 16 years of age
Have advanced stroke technique and effective turns in all four strokes
Swimmers must of achieved the relevant grades criteria (age as last day of the competition)
Minimum attendance of six sessions per week
To enforce the swimmers’ competition and training skills, ready for the intense training required in the National Squad
To introduce swimmers to energy systems and cyclical training
To build stability and basic strength through land training
To educate swimmers on time management, healthy lifestyles and meet protocols
To build the swimmers’ discipline and commitment level
There will also be trips around the country and possibly to Australia
Swimmers will target NZ Division II National Championships, NZ Junior Festival, Regional Winter and Summer Championships, Aquaknights Long Course and Short Course Competitions and National Championships, local competitions and also Club Championships.
15 minutes pre pool exercises should commence before every pool session.
