Welcome to the Home of Rugby League in the Heart of Hawke's Bay!

A Proud Heritage: Our journey dates back to 1911 when the indomitable spirits of two All Golds, Jim Gleeson and Edward Tyne, ignited the flame of rugby league in our Hawke's Bay community. Thanks to their vision and dedication, three esteemed clubs - Clive, Ahuriri, and Kia Toa - united, laying the cornerstone for the very first club competition. A debt of gratitude goes to Mayor Vigor Brown, who ensured our league warriors had access to the iconic McLean Park, sealing our entry into the New Zealand Rugby League family.

A Century of Passion: In August 2011, we celebrated a monumental milestone - a century of rugby league passion, dedication, and unforgettable moments. This centenary stands as a testament to the enduring love for the sport in our region. Leading us through these remarkable years is former Kiwi Kevin Tamati, who now serves as our dedicated chairman.

Champions of Hawke's Bay: Our clubs have etched their names in the annals of history, with premier champions like Omahu Huia, Flaxmere Falcons, Tamatea, and Taradale Eagles showcasing the relentless spirit of Hawke's Bay rugby league. Our age-grade champions, the Tamatea u19's, have also left their mark on the field.
