This free development programme is for Year 9 – 11 athletes with a passion for sport. Irrespective of sporting background or ability - there's something for all. Topics covered are not sports-specific but generic and typically include goal setting, mental skills, nutrition, core strength, public speaking, recovery techniques….. and a challenge by trying something new.
This annual programme is flexible to meet the needs of each specific group of athletes and runs during the first half of the year (February – July).
We invite various speakers and sporting experts to come and share their knowledge and teach our young athletes skills to assist them in their sport. While delivered in a sports context, this programme ultimately aims to develop life skills, self-management skills and increase young athletes’ confidence which lays a foundation for successful and healthy lifestyles.
Offering this free programme removes potential barriers to participation and encourages involvement. We have a team of hard working volunteers along with one programme coordinator who organise and implement the workshops
