Athlete Information:
Weight-in: Please check the flight list using the link here for weight in time. Weigh-in will be in locker room 2. You will weigh-in in lot number order which will be placed outside on the door. if you are not present when called, you will go to the end.
Gear Check: A gear check area will be clearly labled at the venue. All equipment intended to be used on the plateform needs to be checked in. For novice lifters, you are able to wear a t-shift and shorts, however t-shirt must be tucked in. All other competitors must wear a soft suit.
Rack Height: We recommend doing you rack heights ahead of tim if the rack is avaiable for both squat and bench. Rack height list will be at the admin desk.
Scoring and prize giving: WCPA Cup will use Age-Adjusted GL Points to award the best man and woman overall. This will take place at the end of session two. Prize giving for session 1 lifters will take place 15mins after lifting finishes. Note: Only WCPA members are eligible for overall awards.
Competition Etiquette: WCPA and the NZPF prides itself on fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where all feel welcome to enjoy the sport of powerlifting. This means that, in the warm up room and during the competition, there are certain expectations we have of all our athletes.
Sharing is caring: There are limited racks available in the warm up room. This means that it is very likely you will be sharing one of the four racks and weights with other athletes and their coaches. Please allow other athletes to work in with you so everyone can warm up on time.
Keep the warm up room tidy: All bags and other items are to remain out of the way of other athletes. Please keep your belongings in a tidy location. There is a locker room next to the warm up room where you can securely store your bags.
Zero tolerance: WCPA has zero tolerance for any attitudes or behaviours that are intimidating, offensive or rude. We do not condone any inappropriate behaviour in the lead up to, after or on-site at our competitions, and this includes behaviour towards other athletes or officials. Please be kind to one another.
Know your way around: Toitū Pōneke is a large venue, and the warm up room is a little bit away from the main platform area. There will be signs directing athletes around the venue and a screen set up in the warm up room to advise athletes of the order of lifting. Please follow the coloured tape along the floor to and from the warm up room to the platform. A holding area will be set up outside the platform where you can sit once you have warmed up and are waiting to lift.
