Situated on the stunning Lake Hayes, with one of the most sought-after views in the country, Whakatipu Rowing Club is one of New Zealand's premier rowing clubs. The club has a fine reputation in the rowing community and has produced many national medal winning oarsmen and oarswomen.

Whakatipu Rowing Club is widely recognised as having a long-standing successful secondary school rowing programme, consistently achieving local, regional and national successes at U15, U16, U17, U18 and novice groups. The club attracts up to 50 Wakatipu High Schools students per year who are provided with a dedicated team of coaches that offer age group squad training.

Rowing doesn’t have to stop after high school. Club rowing is a great way to continue in the sport if you are planning on staying in Queenstown. Masters rowing proves it’s never too late to get in a boat!

The club is always on the lookout for new rowers, coxswains and coaches, so get in touch with us today!
