TRAVELLING TRIDENTS

If you don’t see our Head Coach, Angie Winstanley-Smith, around in the next couple of months (and she is hard to miss!), there is a reason. At the end of the week, we farewell Angie to Budapest where she will be coaching the NZ Senior Women’s Water Polo Team at the 17th FINA World Aquatics Championships. With Olympic qualification up for grabs, Angie is hoping to make history and get the NZ Women a spot at Tokyo in 2020. But that isn’t the end of her international adventures. In August, Angie heads to Taipei where she will be coaching the first NZ University Water Polo team at the 2017 Summer University Games, and she won’t be the only Atlantis representative there…

Libby Gault (one of our U12 and Neptune coaches) is also travelling to Taipei as a member of the NZ team, before travelling to Volos in Greece to represent New Zealand as part of the NZ (U21) team at the 12th FINA World Women's Junior Water Polo Championships. And the jet set world of water polo doesn’t end there … after Volos we (tearfully) farewell Libby to study (and play more water polo) at the University of Hawaii.

Travel well Angie and Libby. We wish you every success out there and we are very proud of your achievements.
