The Ashhurst Pohangina Junior Rugby committee have been busy gearing up for another season of Saturday morning rugby. Registrations are now open and we are on the lookout for players between the ages of 4 and 13. Our Under 6 and Under 7 teams play non-contact ripper rugby and tackling begins in the Under 8 grade. Field positions are introduced in the Under 9 and Under 10 teams further refining their tackling, passing and lineout techniques. The Under 11, 12 and 13 grades move to playing on a full-sized field. Skills, drills and fitness are progressively developed throughout the grades. Our supportive coaches work with players at all levels within these grades, so no previous experience is necessary to join a team.
There are several events planned for club members and their families this season including pizza nights, sponsors day and club days.
