Ardmore Marist has confirmed that their home Premier and Premier Reserve competition games on 24th March 2018 will be played at the Clevedon Showgrounds.

Club Manager Cameron Flavell says that the game will be an excellent opportunity to reach out and promote rugby within the Clevedon Community.  "Ardmore Marist has strong historic links to the Clevedon area, with many old boys and junior members living in the rural community.  This is a great chance to take an Ardmore Marist senior game to Clevedon for the first time and promote the senior section of our club to our junior members and their Clevedon families" 

Flavell said  "We believe that these will be the first senior competition games to be held in Clevedon since 1954, so it's a very special occasion for us". 

This home game will be a bit of a twist on the traditional local derby between Ardmore Marist and the Papakura Rugby Club.  In addition, it's also the Ardmore Marist Old Boy's Day so the event is also shaping up to be a big day off the field, with the after match being held at The Clevedon Hotel.

"The Clevedon Hotel is a popular watering hole for a number of our Old Boys and we are really looking forward to the event."  said Flavell.

The Ardmore Marist Rugby & Sports Club appreciate the support of the Auckland City Council for agreeing to prepare the Clevedon Showgrounds for the game and also The Clevedon Hotel for putting on the hospitality for the after match function.  

Flavell said "There will be a curtain raiser between our junior U9 Restricted team and Hamilton Marist, with the Ross Roof Group Premier Reserves underway at 1pm and the South Auckland Motors Premiers kicking off at 2:45pm".  

"An after match function will follow at The Clevedon Hotel, starting around 5:30pm with everyone welcome to come along.  It would be great for our players to get to know the locals in our wider community catchment and hopefully the innovation of playing here draws a big crowd".
