Representative coaching appointments for 2017

Auckland Rugby Union is pleased to announce the representative coaching appointments for five flagship teams heading into 2017.

After a thorough review process, coaches have been reappointed in support of Auckland Rugby’s two year programme strategy. This aims to create consistency and continuity for players along with a stable environment for coaches to enhance their skills in the High Performance arena.

Auckland Rugby’s Coach Development Manager Shane King said it was great to maintain the same group of coaches heading into 2017.

“We had some good results in 2016, both the Under 19 teams recorded their best results to date and the B’s won the Northern Region competition.

“Creating consistency within the programmes will hopefully see more top results from these teams,” said King.

Any coaches with future aspirations to coach within the senior representative programme should express their interest directly with King. Auckland Rugby will be looking to appoint an assistant coach to the Auckland B management team in the New Year. Potential applicants should have a minimum of three years of premier club or 1st XV coaching experience and have completed the World Rugby Level Two coaching course as a minimum.

All applications for Auckland Rugby junior representative roles will be called for in the New Year once competition formats are finalised by Northern Region.
