Being affiliated to the Hawera Athletics Club you will a part of a great team, everyone is welcome. We are based at Hicks Park, Waihi Road, Hawera

Our club membership is approximately 180. We pride ourselves on the enjoyment and participation of all Athletes, Officials, parents and caregivers.

Our club night is Tuesdays from October  starting at 5.30 for the senior athletes and 5.45pm for  six year olds to Seniors, and 6pm sharp for the two - five year olds on the back straight.  Programmes each week are posted on our facebook page

We break over Christmas,  restarting again in late January. The season concludes March.

All children must wear their club registration numbers on club night.  This assists the officials in the recording of athlete's names at each particular event.

Inter club athletics (Ribbon Days) are held throughout the summer at the different clubs within the Taranaki area. These are held on Sundays from 10 am till about 2.30 pm.  All children 7 and over are eligible to compete. Ribbons are handed out for 1st, 2nd & 3rd placings. Correct Club uniform must be worn by all competitors.

We hold a training session most Tuesday nights before Club night begins. also at the start of events on the night to ensure that the athlete is starting, throwing or jumping correctly.

The North Island and South Island Colgate Games are for 7-14year olds. This is a National event and both events are held in January
Any Athletes interested in joining the already succesful Colgate team, please liaise with one of the club organisers for details or contact the office.

Disruptions and delays can happen in the programme, we appreciate your patience. The success of the club running smoothly, is reliant on parent help.  It is appreciated if parents/caregivers are able to assist whether it be in setting up equipment prior to starting, storing away at the end of competition, or lending a hand coaching/assisting at each event as your child rotates.
