This is Ava Collins.

She played her 2019 LOTTO NRFL season with Women’s premier side Eastern Suburbs AFC.

Ava has also represented New Zealand at age group level, recently competing at the OFC U19 Championship under the guidance of former AFF NWL Head Coach Gemma Lewis.

Here are five things to know about AFF’s Ava Collins.

Ava began playing football at 12

Ava is now 17 and has played her football at the highest level in New Zealand.

She began playing her football at Eastern Suburbs and she’s still there.

Nice work Ava.

Musician Ava

It’s normal for people to pick up an instrument and play it.

In Ava’s case, she picked up three instruments and she can play all three!

Ava has learnt the Electric Guitar, the Drums and the Harmonica.

If she started a band, she could be everyone.

Ava is basically a mermaid

Okay, so when we read this, we were unsure how she tested this, or how she even had the guts to do perform such an act.

Ava can hold her breath underwater for four minutes.

We asked her, what made you do this?

“I’m very competitive and tried to beat my best friend Anna, so we timed each other.”

She met the Royals

Ava has met Prince Harold and Meghan Markle.

Same.

We then asked Ava where she met the Royals, she said “Last year, by ditching school with my friends to see them at the viaduct.”

Nutri-Grain Diet

Ava told us she can live off Nutri-Grain and Nutri-Grain only.

Does it need to be Kellogg’s? Or can it be the brands that copied Nutri-Grain and aren’t that great?

AFF take on Southern United at Logan Park on Saturday.

Kickoff is at 1pm.
