Home of the Mighty Tussock Jumper At a meeting in the dining room of the Starborough Tavern in 1906, the Awatere Rugby Football Club was formed and the colours of the Awatere landscape – green and gold – were adopted. And so began a proud history of the game of rugby in South Marlborough.
