The Bombay Netball Club has been up and running for more than 65 years.  The club, in recent times, usually has around 14 - 24 teams each season, from Future Ferns through Juniors and Premier, Seniors to Social teams.

Presidents Report 2016 Season:

What a fantastic season 2016 has been!.. In the five years of my involvement with Bombay Netball Club I can’t recall a more successful year with having 8 teams make finals, 6 claiming the championship of their respective grades.   BNZ Bombay 1 prem gold, Bombay 6 C Grade, Bombay 8 D Grade, Bombay 10 D Reserve, Bombay 11 Grade 1, Bombay 12 Grade 2 and let us not forget our Bombay Presidents who Valiantly fought for the Prem Bronze title and Bombay 17 who gave us a nail biting final  - going goal for goal – it was brilliant netball for such little girls who have such a bright future ahead of them!  - and all our players have played some wonderful netball throughout this season.  It has been a pleasure to watch our teams in action throughout the year.

We had a long lead up due to having to provide Pukekohe Netball with our teams in mid March despite not commencing the competition till the 7th May – but I feel this was a great opportunity for our teams to practice as a team and give our coaches time to understand team dynamics and work on skills and fitness.  The 2016 season saw us field initially 24 teams, unfortunately loosing Bombay 5 due to injuries in other senior teams and then being faced with a very difficult decision to ask the remaining girls to go to other teams, which in some instances made these teams top-heavy.  A decision which was not made lightly!

Supporting and developing this many players is a monumental task!  Not for the faint hearted!  A huge thank you to our selectors, coaches, managers , umpires and helpers who made this possible.  Without you, none of the above would be possible.  Also, the fabulous Committee, again, without your tireless work behind the scenes, Bombay Netball would not be able to run, you all work so hard, for little or no reward – I know we all do not expect a “thank you” as we all do it because we are passionate about netball and our community but I would like to take this opportunity to say the biggest, heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you, you are all complete stars.

This season it was also great to see our Representative Player number increase.  Congratulations to those girls who were selected – we hope you enjoyed your season and will continue to grow your skills moving into the 2017 Rep netball.  Some of our girls have been invited onto the 2016/2017 High Performance training at PNC which commences at the end of this month.  Bombay Netball, again has a good number of girls taking part in this, which will give them a good grounding with fitness and skills moving into 2017.   We also  had  a player from BNZ Bombay 1  selected for the Silver Ferns Development Squad – Eseta Augautavia.   We will be following Eseta progress closely.  We also have several of our BNZ Bombay 1 players who are trialing for the 2017 Becko League and I’m sure you will all share with me to wish them the best of luck with the trial process.  Lots of exciting things happening within our netball community.

Our sponsorship was a little light this year.  We were again lucky to receive funds from BNZ to support Bombay 1.  Apart from this, we received very little other than our own fundraising efforts which raised $1600 which will be put towards new jackets.  Again, we had little success with our grant applications.  Thus far,  we have sent in 9 applications to various organizations, 2 we are still awaiting a response.  7 have been turned down due to lack of funding in our area.

It was great to see our Support Gear Hoodies go from an idea to actually happening.  A Big thank you to Heather and Chelsea McLeod for making this possible.  The money raised from this venture will also be put to good use – either towards new jackets or equipment in 2017.

Onwards and upwards  Bombay Netball for 2017.  It has been an honor to be the President of Bombay Netball Club for 2016 and have the opportunity to work alongside such a great group and a wonderful netball community.  Enjoy the Summer everyone!

Presidents Report October 2015:
It has been a long season for many of us this year as trials began in February  but games didn't commence at PNC until after the April school holidays. There was a break for the Netball World Cup in August hence our late finish with Finals day on the 19th September. I know some of you are glad it has come to an end :)

This season our Club fielded 20 teams – 2 Future Fern teams, 8 in junior
grades, 10 senior grade teams. Four  teams fought it out in the finals. Bombay 16 finishing triumphant. Bombay 4 , 12 and 15 finishing runners up in their grades.

Supporting and developing this many players is a monumental task that is carried out without complaint by an awesome committee of highly dedicated people. A huge thank you to this amazing group. Without you there would be no Bombay Netball.

A huge thank you also  all our selectors and helpers involved with  trials this year. It is a mammoth  task for all involved and without your expertise quite a daunting one.
Thank you also to those involved with running the pre season fitness program before trials. For those that attended I am sure they hugely benefited from it going into trials.

Big thank you to all our dedicated, hard‐working coaches, managers and
umpires. You are what keeps the girls in the sport. Without you they may not be able to play.

Congratulations to the following girls for their selection in Pukekohe Rep teams:
U19 Tasha Hayde and Phoebe Kempton
U15 Te Ata Aramoana
Yr 9 Jessica Vandermeer
Yr 8 Amber Knight, Miyah Chapman, Bonnie-Jean Tito

Thank you to our generous sponsors this year:
BNZ sponsoring Bombay 1 and Bombay 2
Farmlands
Bayer - committee sweatshirts
McRobbie Brothers- drink bottles for our junior teams

Thank you to Gary and Astrid Lambert for successfully applying for and receiving two grants for the club to purchase new balls and uniforms. And thanks Gary for all the photos.

Many thanks to Heather McLeod and Bombay 1 for trying to introduce supporters gear  to the club. Unfortunately this didn't have enough support but we appreciate the time and effort you put in Heather. The gear will be available next year.
During the season we held a cake stall as part of the Bombay 150th celebrations and the money raised was used to purchase new netball hoops and nets for the court at the school.
World Cup Family fun day was held and enjoyed by all that attended but unfortunately numbers were down on previous years.
Junior disco was also down on numbers but those that attended had fun.
Thank you to all those who helped make these events and others happen. Your time and effort is appreciated!
As a club we ask very little of our members and the minimal fundraising we do helps  to keep the club going.
Again  a huge thanks to the committee this year. You have been an awesome group of ladies and i have thoroughly enjoyed working with you all.
Well done on a great season albeit with a few challenges for some of you. Enjoy the summer.

Presidents Report October 2014:
This Season our Club fielded 22 teams and we are the only Club in the PNC comp that caters for all grades.  Supporting and developing this many players is a monumental task that is carried out without complaint or rancour by a committee of highly organised and dedicated people.  Thank you to this exceptional team.  We are also dependent on the willingness and generosity of coaches and managers.  Some of our coaches commit to multiple teams as well as play themselves and go to school.  We are indebted to these members and also those that week in week out umpire for our teams.
With the introduction of Netball Northern Zone players are now able to play in more than one centre across the zone (ie Mystics region).  This meant for our Premier Team coach and players a very flexible training schedule as we shared players with other clubs and sports so many thanks to Nicky Main who took this on with patience and good humour.
19 Bombay players were selected as Reps for Pukekohe, Papakura and Auckland as well as 2 Counties Women's Rugby Reps.  2 players also went on to NPC Reps.
Well done on another great seaon and enjoy the Summer.

Presidents Report October 2013:
2013  season our Club fielded 22 teams – 5 Future Fern teams, 6 in junior grades, 10 senior grade teams as well as 1 social women’s team. 7 teams fought it out in the finals. Prems, 2, 8 and 12 finishing triumphant. Gold, 4 and 11 finishing runners up in their grades.
Prems and 2 started the season by entering the AKLD pre-season winning their grades. Both teams also trialled for RPL this season. Prems again were successful in claiming their place in this competition. They played in a promotion/relegation game at the end of round 1 and won. We have been in this comp now for 3 years and it is the highest club comp we can enter in the region. Division 1 has the strongest teams in the Counties Manukau area and provides the toughest and best competition we can get. Our thanks go Suzanne Mariassouce who coached Prems this year sharing her vast experience at this top level and our congratulations for being named president of Auckland Netball.
19 Bombay players were selected as Pukekoke reps. 3 of our coaches coached rep teams, 2 players were Pasifika reps and 1 player played in the Counties Manukau LFC team, 1 umpire gained senior badge and 1 player has been named in the Black ferns training squad.
U19 Foekina Veainu , U17's Eseta Autagavaia, Phoebe Kempton, Hannah Autagavaia, Saskia-Rae Brown U15's Ivana Rowland, Emily Autagavaia ,Lucy Judson, Karly Brough , Yr 8's Cecelia Autagavaia, Hayley Marx Yr 7's Abbey Hull, Emily Perry, Jessica Van der Meer , Kaua Veainu , Sarah Martin. We also had 4 girls in the very successful Pukekohe High school team that finished 6th at  Nationals As a club we can be very proud and satisfied that our structures have nurtured our players to attain such success.
A huge thank you to all our dedicated, hard-working coaches, managers and umpires, to our loyal and generous sponsors, and to our committee whose good humour and will make the club tick.  Bless you all.

Recently the clubs premier team has played at a consistently high level, winning the Premier Gold Championship round in 2009, 2012, 2013 and coming second in 2010, 2011.

2011 saw the formation of a Bombay Premier Squad to play in the Counties Manukau Regional Premier League competition.  Each year they have to qualify for entry into the League by way of an elimination tournament.  If successful they play on Friday nights at various venues and also on Saturdays at the Pukekohe Netball Centre.  Bombay Prems have shown their mettle winning the RPL Division 2 in 2011 and coming Runners Up in 2012 and 2013.

2011 also saw the formation of a Bombay Colts/Development Squad to develop a pathway for players to reach the Premier team.  Both squads will hopefully be a way of keeping our quality players within the Franklin area.
