Rain and kayak drama first World Cup of 2024

Amidst the rain-soaked drama in Augsburg, the 2024 International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Cup season commenced with two first-time champions. French paddler Camille Prigent secured gold in the women’s K1 final with a stellar run, while Austrian Felix Oschmautz claimed victory in the men’s K1 final after a 50-second penalty reshuffled the standings and Finn Butcher securing silver.

In Canoe results Hannah Thomas finished 34th, Finn Anderson 44th and James Senior 48th.

NZ athletes now prepare for the Kayak Cross event starting Sunday from 6.45pm NZT.
