As part of a new Women in High Performance Sport Project, HPSNZ are conducting a survey of current and former women sports coach in New Zealand to help inform the development of the new high performance sport coach initiative. They are particularly targeting women coaches who are currently or who have coached at the Performance Development, Performance or High Performance levels in HPSNZ funded sports.

If this is you, or you know someone, please complete or circulate this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HPSNZWomeninCoaching

The survey will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete and needs to be completed by Friday, 26 July 2019.

This is an area CSNZ could do with a positive nudge in, so any input appreciated.

Below is background on the Women in High Performance Sport Project, or for further information please contact Sonia Boland at HPSNZ (Sonia.Boland@hpsnz.org.nz).

Background – Women in High Performance Sport Project

New Zealand’s female athletes significantly contribute to the country’s success on the international sporting stage, yet females remain significantly under-represented in high performance sport leadership and coaching roles.

High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) recognises that action needs to be taken to correct this ongoing imbalance in the sporting system. As part of HPSNZ’s commitment to improving gender equity, diversity and inclusivity across the sport system, HPSNZ is rolling out a new Women in High Performance Sport Project in 2019. This project, the first of its kind for HPSNZ, is aimed at creating the right environment and opportunities to enable greater representation of women in high performance leadership and coaching positions.

As part of the project a new coaching initiative is being designed to broaden the current talent pool of performance and high performance women coaches in New Zealand, and to enable talented and capable women coaches the opportunities to progress into high performance coaching roles. The new coaching initiative will add value to and complement the work already underway at the community, regional and national levels.
