Announcing the 2024 Women in Football – Leadership Programme Candidates

Capital Football's Current and Future Leaders

Capital Football, in collaboration with New Zealand Football, is excited to announce the successful nominees for our 2024 Women in Football Leadership Programme. This regional initiative, now in its third year, continues to empower and develop female leaders within our football community.

The programme is designed to help participants deepen their understanding of their unique skills, strengths, and values, while also providing the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in leadership roles. Over the course of the programme, participants will engage in thought-provoking sessions, connect with like-minded peers, and build a network of strong wahine that will serve them for years to come.

We are proud to introduce the 17 outstanding women who have been selected to take part in the 2024 programme, representing a diverse range of clubs and organisations across the Capital Football Federation:

Looking Ahead

The impact of the Women in Football Leadership Programme is already evident across our region. From 2021 to 2024, the number of women's teams has increased by a remarkable 54%, adding 21 new teams. Notably, 19 of these new teams have been formed at clubs where our Women in Leadership graduates are based. This growth is a testament to the power of strong leadership and the positive influence of our programme alumni.

We extend our congratulations to our 2024 cohort of inspiring women and we look forward to seeing their journey throughout the course. We also wish to thank everyone involved in making this programme possible, including our dedicated facilitators and guest speakers.

We are confident that this group will continue to make significant contributions to football in our region, and we look forward to helping equip them with more tools to really shine both within football and beyond.
