Te Whare Rehia

Late 2022 Cashmere High School opened Te Whare Rehia, our Fitness and High Performance Centre.

This facility has been created with the intention of it being functional, versatile, and practical. The wide open spaces are perfect for group activities such as Yoga, Pilates, and Fitness Boxing. While the large amount of free weights, racks, plyometric boxes, rowers and other cardio equipment mean there is something for everyone.

While this space is often used by Physical Education during the school day, Cashmere High School has also employed a Personal Trainer to assist and guide the students through exercise group classes and personalised training programmes everyday after school.

Courts and Training Turf

We have a very large court space, that comprises of a mixture of hardcourt and sand-based turf surfaces. In total, we have the ability to set up  7 tennis courts, 7 netball courts, a basketball court, a half-court basketball space and a hockey training turf.

Our hard courts and tiger turf are available to hire to community and commercial groups. Any group wishing to hire the facility must align with the core values and strategic direction of Cashmere High School.

Science Block

Completed in 2019 this two-storey block includes seven specialist science class rooms, two large breakout spaces, and a new staff work room.  These wonderful new spaces allow for students to easily complete bookwork while still providing appropriate space for practical experiments.

Included within the stair well of this new extension to A Block is this special feature – designed and constructed by science staff and students. This is a plesiosaur, whose fossils can be found locally in the Waipara Valley.
