We are all excited about the season ahead and extend a warm welcome to all new players joining the program. We also look forward to seeing familiar faces back on the field soon.
Cashmere is actively growing its rugby program, with a year-on-year increase in participation. We cultivate player development and create a fun, enjoyable experience that encourages sustained engagement. We provide diverse opportunities for players, families, and whānau to participate, connect, and strengthen our rugby environment.
We are also fortunate to have a strong relationship with Sydenham Rugby Club. Many of our players come through Sydenham’s junior grades, play for Cashmere during high school, and then return to Sydenham after finishing school. This partnership provides valuable support, including administration, training grounds, coach development, and hosting teams at the Cashmere Club during the season. Our First XV is a combined team with Whānau Tahi and Catholic Cathedral College, competing in the Miles Toyota Boys' First XV Championship. Our Boys 2nd XV and girls’ team will also combine with these partner schools. We also welcome any players from local schools to join our junior teams.
Key Dates:
Senior Boys Preseason Training: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 to 5:15pm. @Hansen Park. Strength and conditioning session Thursday 7:15-8am. @Te Whare Rehia (Cashmere HS Fitness and High Performance Centre).
Junior Boys Preseason: Every Thursday from 3:30-5pm. @Cashmere HS Top field
Tuesday 8 April - Boys 2nd XV international fixture vs Haileybury Senior School Senior Boys Team from Melbourne @Cashmere HS 1pm.
Thursday 10 April– Rolleston College Co-Ed Schools Invitational Tournament (Boys’ senior and junior teams, and girls’ team).
Friday 18 & Sunday 20 April - Boys U15 preseason tournament @Hagley Park
21 April (Easter Monday) – Boys' First XV international fixture vs. Canberra Grammar School at Cashmere High School 2:45pm kick-off.
Tuesday 22 April-The announcement of Cashmere Combined Boys 1st XV Squad 2025
26-27 April-Boys 1st XV training Camp (Venue TBC)
26 April-Boys 2nd XV, Junior Gold and maroon teams vs Hillmorton @Hoon Hay Park
May 3 – Grading games begin for teenage grades.
May 10 – Boys' First XV first game of the Miles Toyota Championship vs. Christchurch Boys’ High School 2nd XV.
Season fees: $120 for the season. The 1st XV will have some additional fee. Once you're registered, the fee will be charged into the students' account for Cashmere students. The invoice will be sent to the players in other schools.

If you are Year 9 or 10 boys, choose "Boys Junior", if you are Year 11, 12 or 13, please choose "Boys Senior" for the grade. All girls are registered in one category.
The registration closes on Friday 11 April.
